Your accessible guide to Nottingham's Trams

At NET, we want to make travel accessible for all so we’ve been working with accessibility company, Widgit to create a guide to help those who may struggle to travel independently or may not speak English.  

The guide uses specialist symbols and images to prepare the person on what they can expect when they travel on the tram to reduce any stress and anxiety.  

Widgit Software, based in Warwick, are passionate about everybody having fair and equal access to information. They use a bank of 20,000 symbols specifically designed to support written text to help users of all ages, abilities and backgrounds who have difficulty with text or communication. The symbols are used in a wide range of locations, including schools, healthcare settings, and businesses including the National Trust, Transport for London, and the Eden Project to name a few.
