Our ticket machines are easy to use and they are available on every single tram stop across the network.
You can purchase your tickets for tram travel, as well as connection and multi-operator tram and bus tickets.
Our machines accept cash or card payments, and they are also ready for contactless payments if you are using a smart device or contacltess payment cards.
*Please note, our machines will not accept £20 notes for any transaction under £10. Please ensure you collect your tickets and any change that is dispensed in the tray below the screen
Our machines are pretty straightforward, but if you need a helpful guide, please continue reading.
Step one
Touch anywhere on the screen to be taken to the tickets page. If our machines have been inactive for a short period of time, they may be displaying a screensaver or helpful message. Tapping anywhere will get you started.
Step two
You can now select the ticket(s) you need by pressing on the correct option. You can add as many tickets as you need to a basket and pay altogether.
Our tickets are displayed in colums and rows so you can easily find the correct ticket for yourself, or others who are travelling with you.

Step three
Check that you have the correct tickets. Every time you select a ticket on the machine, a box will appear which explains the validity of a ticket. It's very important you travel with the correct ticket for your journey. Failing to purchase the correct ticket for the journey you are making may result in a penalty fare being issued to you.
Step four
Time to pay for your tickets. You can select cash or card on the screen. Our machines take notes and coins and will dispense your change. If you're paying by card, you may place in the machine and enter your pin, or tap on any contactless method of payment against the card reader to the right of the screen.
Step five
Collect your tickets and any change that is dispensed and enjoy your journey!
If you are having any issues with the ticket machines, it's important you let us know as soon as it happens. You can get in touch with our team via the customer help point, which will be located next to or on the side of the ticket machines. Boarding without your ticket or permission from NET staff may result in a penalty fare being issued to you. We don't want that to happen and will do everything we can to ensure the machine is fixed and you can make your journey as soon as possible. If you need to let us know about a machine error, you can find the machine number below the screen where the tickets are usually dispensed
