Created by Luke Taylor, Modified on Thu, 19 Feb at 9:48 PM by Luke Taylor

Latest update: 21:15 (19th Feb) - The current service disruption may change, so please refer back to this page or our service status page for the most up-to-date information

Initial incident

Following a road traffic accident, we currently have no service between Bramcote Lane and Toton Lane, affecting the Toton Lane and Hucknall tram services.

Trams heading towards Toton Lane will terminate at Bramcote Lane. A replacement bus service is operating from the Sandby Court bus stop situated on Bramcote Lane, heading towards Toton Lane park and ride.

One of our trams has been derailed following a collision with a bus, and we are arranging a recovery vehicle to rerail or remove the damaged tram.

We will keep customers informed of the current situation via our social media channels, but for all the latest information on our tram services, see our service status page here: NET Service Status

This incident and our plan to recover our services may change over the evening, and this incident is likely to impact tram services heading into Friday, 20th February. Customers wishing to use our Park and Ride towards the City Centre are encouraged to use the Clifton South park and ride or alternative car parks wherever possible to avoid any disruption to their journey.

Alternative transport and directions

Current services (19th February) - Latest updates NET Service Status

Currently, our trams heading towards Toton Lane will terminate at Beeston Centre. The recovery of our tram will require us to isolate our overhead lines in this section, and therefore, our trams will only be able to reach as far as Beeston.

A dedicated replacement bus service will operate between Beeston Interchange and Toton Lane whilst our overhead lines are isolated. NCT Orange Line 36 buses are also accepting tram tickets and travel cards.

If you're travelling towards Toton Lane, the NCT Orange Line buses will accept tram tickets and travel cards from the City Centre, or use tram services to reach the Beeston interchange. From Beeston interchange, customers can use the NCT Orange Line buses for stops as far as Bramcote Lane, or use a dedicated tram replacement bus service which will operate between Beeston interchange and Toton Lane.

If you're travelling towards the City or Hucknall from Toton Lane, a replacement bus service will operate from the park and ride to Beeston Centre. Customers will need to alight the replacement bus and use the tram services towards the City and Hucknall.

Service plan for Friday 20th February

There will be ongoing overnight work to recover the tram, which was involved in the accident at Inham Road. We anticipate that services will be disrupted on Friday 20th of February, so please check our NET Service Status page before travelling.

We advise passengers, wherever possible, to use an alternative Park and Ride site if planning to travel from Toton Lane. Directions to our other park and ride sites can be found here: https://www.thetram.net/park-and-ride

Our current plans for Friday morning are to operate tram services to Bramcote Lane, and therefore, we anticipate no tram services between Bramcote Lane and Toton Lane. During this time, a dedicated replacement bus service will operate between Bramcote Lane and Toton Lane, picking up and dropping off at the Sandby Court bus stop on Bramcote Lane and the Toton Lane car park.
